As soon as the time, date and opponent is released for Arkansas basketball's 2023-24 season opener, the countdown will be on for what is certain to be another highly anticipated year for the Hoop Hogs in Fayetteville as they enter the fifth year of Eric Musselman's tenure at the helm.

The offseason began with a predictable flurry as the Razorback coaching staff quickly reloaded the roster with the commitments of five transfers amidst NBA draft and portal declarations from a host of returners.

There are still a number of moves and decisions to be made before the final roster is intact, but before fans know it, the Hogs will be back on campus for workouts and beginning their journey towards that elusive Final Four. With a brief moment to catch our breaths, we've compiled a list of important dates and deadlines to be familiar with that will be adjusted and added to as needed with the summer months on the horizon.

APRIL 21-23 & 28-30- Live Evaluation Periods

Coaches will be back on the road during these timeframes for NCAA certified events, institutional camps and permissible governing body events seeing prospects in action live. The Nike EYBL Session 1 will be held in Atlanta (Ga.) this weekend and Phoenix (Ariz.) next. The Adidas 3SSB will take place in Council Bluffs (Iowa) followed by Bryan (Texas). Under Armor will be in Mesa (Ariz.) this weekend and Rock Hill (S.C.) the next.

MAY 11 - Transfer Portal Window Closes

The 60-day transfer portal window comes to an end on May 11. For clarity, programs across the country will still be able to make transfer additions to their respective rosters after this date. This is simply the deadline for non-graduates to enter the portal and qualify for immediate eligibility as first-time transfers.

MAY 13-14 - G League Elite Camp

This pre-combine event in Chicago gives NBA Draft prospects an opportunity to showcase their skills in front of NBA and G League scouts, coaches and front-office executives. A select number of players from the draft-eligible group will be invited to participate in the NBA Draft Combine later in the week based on their performance. JD Notae attended the G League Camp last year.

MAY 15-21 - NBA Draft Combine

Located at Wintrust Arena in Chicago, this is where the top draft-eligible players who receive invites convent to compete, test and interview in front of NBA scouts, GM's and executives. The number of invites varies from year to year. In 2022, there were 76 participants. Nick Smith Jr. Anthony Black, Ricky Council and likely Jordan Walsh will all be invitees and participants from Arkansas.

MAY 30 - Summer School Begins

Why does this matter? Well, for the Hoop Hogs it means that somewhere close to this date the new-look roster will converge on campus to begin class and summer workouts. Arkansas will have up to eight weeks of summer activities which can consist up no more than eight hours per week for weight-training, conditioning and not more than four hours of on-court, skill-related instruction.

MAY 31 - NCAA Early Draft Entry Withdraw Deadline

This is a date of particular importance for Arkansas as four players (Davonte Davis, Jordan Walsh, Tramon Mark and El Ellis) are testing the draft waters and have until 11:59 p.m. (EDT) on this date to pull their names in order to maintain their college eligibility for the 2023-24 season if they so wish. Each player has the freedom to make the decision at any point prior to the deadline, but once it passes there is no turning back.

JUNE 16-18 & 23-25 - Live Evaluation Periods

Coaches can get back on the road on the recruiting trail on these weekends for scholastic events approved by the NCAA and NFHS (National Federation of State High School Associations) and intercollegiate events approved by applicable two-year college governing bodies only. These are typically high school team tournaments and showcases.

JUNE 22nd - 2023 NBA Draft

More one-and-done selections, more lottery picks, the potential for four draft picks for the first time since 1992, the possibilities are bountiful for the brand when it comes to the amount of damage Arkansas can do during this year's draft, which will be held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. It will be must-watch from start to finish for Razorback fans.

JUNE 28-29 - NBPA Top 100 Camp

This weekend features another live evaluation opportunity for coaches to attend the NBPA Top 100 Camp, which features the nation's most highly-decorated high school prospects. Last year, the event was held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando (Fla.). An official list of attendees will be released in the coming weeks.

JULY 6-9, 15-16 & 24-27 - Final Live Evaluation Periods

The final three live periods of the summer where coaches can get in-person looks at prospects all occur in July. The prestigious Peach Jam EYBL event will be open to staffs July 6-9 from North Augusta (S.C.). The Adidas 3SSB Chapter III will be held on the same dates in Rock Hill (S.C.). The July 24-27 period is reserved for the NCAA College Basketball Academy only.
